Dr. S. B. Saraswat is a well-known technologist in the Steel, Power and Petroleum sectors with more than four decades of expertise in E-Auctions, Supply Chain Management and Projects in India, Europe and Middle East. He has worked in the senior positions of Joint Director-MM, SAIL, Director-SCM, Global Steel, Europe and Managing Director of Danieli Corus India. Dr. S. B. Saraswat is an Electrical Engineer by qualification and experience with PG qualification in ADR, Material Management, Public Administration, Industrial Engineering and Ph.D. He is the recipient of the certification of ISO & High-Tension Supervisory Competency. He has contributed many research papers on E-Auctions and arbitration in leading international journals. He has been pioneer in conducting the first E-Auction in early years of 2000 in one of the largest PSU of India which led to adoption of eAuction by most of the PSUs in India. He has been responsible for formulating the E-Auction policy for sale of secondary steel, all categories of Idle assets and non-moving inventories. He is honorary visiting professor on SCM and E-Commerce in various universities of India and abroad. Dr. Saraswat is international speaker on E-Auctions, SCM and Projects and also has been instrumental in the lead role to implement E-auctions in one of the largest companies in Europe Dr. Saraswat is also an Arbitrator on a panel of forums of ICA, SCOPE, CIAC, IDAC - Ahmedabad, Newton Arbitration -UK, BIMA CC-Bangalore, Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation - Kochi, AIC ADR - Delhi, IITArb - India, and PHD Chamber of Commerce-Delhi, India. He is the Chairman of Indian Institution of Plant Engineers (IIPE-D/H), Chartered Engineer, Fellow of Institution of Engineers (I), Fellow of Indian Institution of Plant Engineers and Fellow of IITArb. He has been member of Society of Construction law, UK. Dr. Saraswat is also the author of the books: 1. “A Practical Guide to E-Auctions” 75 Ideas for increasing your company’s profit" 2. “Construction Arbitration: Delays, Disputes & Resolution” Presently, Dr. Naithani is the Advisor to the Shri Aurobindo Society of India, He sits on the Advisory Board of many Indian Universities. Apart from his academic experience; he has been associated with several national and international educational institutions and socio-developmental organizations in advisory positions. He served as Advisor to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He worked as OSD to the Information and Broadcasting Minister and Advisor to the former Education Minister, of the Government of India. He worked as Faculty Member UIC Chicago and also as Lead Scientist at IITRI, Chicago. Recently he worked as Vice Chancellor in Himalayiya University, Dehradun Apart from being a cancer scientist, he has been involved in strategy management, marketing, and communications. His vision of making students skilled and employable led him to initiate myriad small and big educational and skilling centers in Uttarakhand. A senior scientist in the USA who had a bright career in research, he decided to return and serve his homeland, India and spearheaded myriad initiatives to prepare underprivileged youth for life.
